Frequently Asked Questions

You got questions? We got answers.

Q: What is Ignighter?

Ignighter is the first and only group dating site. It gets you offline and into the real world, so you and your friends can meet new people. You may find romance or you may just have a fun night out. Either way you're out with your friends!

Q: What is group dating?

Group dating may sound foreign, but in reality it’s probably something you’ve already done in real life. Basically, it’s when you and your group of friends meet another group of friends out in a social setting.

Q: Why is Ignighter safer than other dating sites?

Traditional online dating sites send you out into the world to meet a stranger alone. With Ignighter, however, you are with your group of friends and therefore meeting new people isn't only more fun, but it's also a lot safer!

But we abide by the same rules our mothers taught us, and think you should too: Be smart, use good judgment, listen to your gut, and stick to public places as much as possible.

Q: Can I be a member of more than one Ignighter group?

Please do! Go group crazy. Create and/or join as many as 10 different groups. Hey, in fact, we'll get you started: How about a group for your college friends? And don't forget those high school pals. Or your colleagues. And what the heck, throw together a group of your family members. After all, who knows you better?

Q: Why can't groups have less than 2 people or more than 10?

Our goal is to get you to turn off the computer and get out in the real world to meet new people. If you had 15 ladies in your group and he has 20 dudes in his - that's 35 people's schedule you'll have to coordinate. That’s pretty difficult.

Remember, you can create up to 10 groups. So break up your pals into different groups of varying sizes, personalities, interests, whatever, so you'll get as much out of Ignighter as possible.

Q: What's a groupie?

Say a group of guys is running a search to find a crew of ladies who match your criteria. Your group jumps to the top of their search results. They check you out. They like what they see. So they click the "Become a Groupie" button on your group's page.

They are now, officially, your groupie. The moves you make on Ignighter from status updates to new pictures will appear on their Newsfeed. Want to keep an eye on your favorite groups? Go ahead. Become a groupie.

Q: What is the Secret Crush feature?

Secret Crush allows you to tell another group you like them without any fear of rejection whatsoever. When you ‘Secret Crush’ another group, they will receive an email telling them that an anonymous group on Ignighter likes them. They will be shown a list of their own matches that includes your group. If they say they like your group, we’ll let you both know and introduce you.

Q: What's the difference between my profile and my group?

Your profile is all you and only you. It tells a bit more about you on a personal level like your name and some unique-to-you questions. So if someone's checking out your group and you pique their interest, they'll want to check out your profile to learn more.

Your group is different. Your group is the front page for you and all of your pals within that group. It's where you share who you all are, how you know each other, your shared interests, etc, basically what defines you as a fun group to meet up with.

Q: What is posted in my Newsfeed? How do I control what I see?

Find your Newsfeed updates on your Dashboard page. Here's where you keep tabs on the happenings in your area. You'll see when groups you're following update their status, upload a picture, write a note - whatever move they make, you'll see it right on your Newsfeed. Our team will keep you updated on what's going on in the greater group dating community by posting notes and other info we think you'd dig.

If you want to see less general info and want to target specific groups' info, just become their groupie. We'll make sure all of their moves are top priority on your Newsfeed, don't you worry.

Q: I've been invited to a group. How do I accept my invite?

Congrats! One of your friends loves you enough to join them in meeting new people. Pretty cool. And pretty easy.

Just head back to your email inbox and find the email from Ignighter. Inside will be a link that you'll need to click. It will bring you to the site so you can register and accept your friend's invite. Easy, huh?

Q: I’ve tried entering my credit card a number of times, but it doesn’t seem to be working. What’s the deal?

The fact is that there are many intricacies involved with processing credit cards. Sometimes they work just fine and sometimes they don’t process. Do not take it personally. If you’ve tried a couple times and you’re still having problems, contact us and we’ll help you out. .
